Gabala beat Aghsu 3:0 in the round of 16 domestic cup competition that was our first leg game of the season.

With the starting line-up, head coach Dorinel Munteanu gave chance to keeper Anar Nazirov and Bakhtiyar Soltanov from very early minutes and the latter, last transfer of the club, opened the scoring with the 2nd minute into the game. The midfielder doubled his favor for the team on 22 minutes.

After the restart, Gabala tripled their lead with Pavol Farkas. Dense fog forced the show to stop in the 75th minute for a short break. But there were no more goals after the second restart and Gabala took 3:0 victory in their 40th cup match earning tally to round of 8.
