Gabala fighters gained 2 medals for Azerbaijan national karate team from 50th European Karate Championship in Istanbul, Turkey, which was joined by 433 challengers from 47 countries. Our heros came on the canvas for 3 finals to take 2 gold medals. These were 2 of 3 achievments of the national team with one more silver medal.

The gold medals were gained by Gabala”s Rafael Aghayev, 75 kg and Niyazi Aliyev with 67 kg, hitting their, respectively, 12th and 2nd titles of European Champion.

Aghayev is still having one more chance among the national team to fight againt Germany national team for the 3rd place.
