Today Gabala beat Simurg 1:0 in the 29th tour home match of the Topaz Premier League to hit their 6th win on the trot for the first-ever time in the club history.
The pace of the match started by mutual attacks before Simurg looked faster. But Dmitri Bezotosny held on and Elvin Jamalov stayed tight in defense to deny the opponents.
Then Bakhtiyar Soltanov failed to finish pass from Ruslan Abishov in the 17th minute 4 minutes before Ruslan Fomin was off the target.
In the 10 minutes left to the half time, Abishov could have opened the scoring by a free kick deflected by Pavel Kapsa.
Although the visiting side took the better restart, it was Gabala breaking the deadlock with Abishov”s free kick from close to the right sideline – 1:0. The goal came out to be the only of the night after some more threats by both sides.
