Gabala won over Sumgayit in the closing home match of the domestic Topaz Premier League 5th tour.

The red-black side took the lead in the early minutes keeping the opponents under sustained period of pressure. While Sumgayit were staying in the backs-to-the-wall display, Gabala pushed harder, but their efforts could not find the net.

Fakundo Pereyra gave two troubles to the other end as his header was denied by the keeper after the previous shot flew over the bar.

It was Gabala again being faster after the restart that led to an inch-prefect pass to Aleksey Gai failed to finish.

And two counter attacks from Sumgayit was deflected by Dmytro Bezotosny disappointing Pardis Fardjad-Azad.

Gabala”s head coach Roman Grigorchuk introduced Sergei Zenjov and Ermin Zec that added ore dynamism to the forward line setting up some threats. The latter was denied by the visitor keeper before his long-range shot also was deflected, but the denied ball found Zec being offside.

Sumgayit”s Ughur Pamuk went too close to the opener in the closing minutes, but Bezotosny gave another great save to his teammates.

And Gabala sealed in the fate of the night scoring the only goal on the show in the stoppage time, after Dodo was fouled in the other box led to penalty. Gai shot from the spot to finish in 1:0. The goal extended the red-black side”s scoring league run to 18 matches. And with the 3rd win in the season on the trot, Gabala are reaching their points up to 10.
