Gabala’s A team will go to training camp in Antalya, Turkey, during the winter break. Roman Grigorchuk’s red-black squad are in break now team ended with the half of the season with away match against AZAL on December 21 within the Azerbaijan Cup’s round of eight, and will leave to the fraternal country on January 9. Legionnaires of Gabala will join up with the team at the camp that will go on up to January 25. The staff will stay at the Gloria Sereniti Hotel in Belek town of Antalya.
During the winter preparation, Gabala will have five trial matches. The first tie is fixed to January 13 against Partizani Tirana from Albania, who are having fifteen titles of domestic league and ended runners-up lasts term. They have made their first leg in the UEFA Champions League and stopped at the play-off of the Europa League.
Five days later, Gabala will face Gaz Metan from Romania. The opponents are the lower division champion of the last season.
The third testing game will be against FC Shkendija from Macedonia on January 23rd. The rivals are the top side of their domestic league of the 2000-2001 season. They finished as Macedonian Premier League runners-up last season and battled into the UEFA Europa League up to the play-off.
