Working on a series of initiatives to strengthen intellectual development of young players, SC Gabala has given next step on the way organizing trip to the Nasiraddin Tusi Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences for U15 of the Gabala Football Academy. After taking a walk around fascinating nature of Pirgulu, where the scientific institution is located, the youth were guided by senior researcher Bahadir Abdullayev to a close view of the offices and working situation of the scientists. He also gave broad information to the visitors about astronomy, observatories, telescopes and space objects.
Amongst the exhibits, the 127-kg meteorite hit Yardimly, Azerbaijan, on November 27, 1959 drew a deep attention of the Gabala footballers.
The excursion kept going into a great presentation of Mars and Saturn by scientific secretary of SAO Ph.D. Orkhan Khalilov and guide Mushfig Huseynov after a brief introduction to the Solar system, as well as galaxy and planets.
