Grigorchuk- I want to keep the positives

Gabala’s head coach Roman Grigorchuk talks to reporters at the post-match press-conference after the 1:2 loss to Saint-Etienne (France) in the UEFA Europa League’s Group C. The Ukrainian skipper says:

“This tie was our fourth in the group and I can say this is also the first-ever match we play at the same level with a top-championship side. This shows that we are progressing and it makes me happy. And I hope this will go on. I would not say we gifted the victory to the opponents and only the second goal was scored after a basic mistake. I don’t want to blame Rashad Sadigov for the error and I want to keep the positives with him. We need to forget about this as he is a valuable player for us. Theo Weeks have played really well as a midfielder that is not his own position.

We are glad to play in this tournament. Although we have not won the stage, the team gained much experience. Gabala are still having a chance of going under spotlight and drawing attention of specialists.

Every tie in UEFA EL is vital for us and we will keep the motivation to go into the next two events. I will get surprised if I see my any footballer coming on not motivated. We knew about our little chance.”
