Grigorchuk: "I made a deal with my team to score three"

Gabala’s head coach Roman Grigorchuk talks to media reporters just ahead of the UEFA EL’s 3rd Qualifying Round return match against Panathinaikos (Greece). The Ukrainian skipper says:

“We are focused to take the match and round. Every victory boost Azerbaijan’s football rating and this encourages us more. We are really happy for Qarabagh’s last night victory and congratulate them. Panathinaikos are a strong side with their fast players. But we also are not slow and we just need show our best.

We were slower than Borussia, Mainz, Anderlecht and Saint-Etienne. But Although Panathinaikos are fast but Gabala are not going slower than them.

Javid Huseynov was emotional in earlier games, but we fixed it during the last match.

We played not well in Greece because that was not our best display. This was the opponents’ good teamwork that prevented us from our best. If play you are out of your own style, this means your opponents are stronger on a show. I’m sure we’ll play more close to our own style tomorrow.

There are no any injured players right now and the line-up will be determine tomorrow. I would not compare the teams as they both are rebuilt newly. We still are having chance of victory although losing the last tie. We would struggle until the end even in a little chance, but it’s not little. I had a talk with my team about what we have to drive on the pitch.

Panathinaikos are not in a better form than us as this was well evident with some episodes during the last tie’s second period.

Qabala have to win and take the round. We are ready to every situation, even to play well longer than 90 minutes. The team trained on penalty, too. I know who will shoot a penalty ball in case of need. I made a deal with my team to score three”.
