Gabala’s head coach Roman Grigorchuk talks for post-match reaction right after the 1:0 home win on Neftchi in the 16th tour of the Azerbaijan Premier League. The Ukrainian boss says:

“Daniel Subotic demonstrated his value as a good striker. He drove best benefit from his only chance. I had criticized my team for being unable to score on many occasions. But I also support them on some points as forwards psychologically suffer from their long-term failure in scoring. In these days, even a single goal can change the situation in the team.

I heard that there was off-side when Subotic scored. I haven’t watched the episode yet and can’t say anything. We don’t want to win or lose on referees’ mistakes.

It was really funny to force me off the pitch as I just gave my own reaction on some episode and then someone in on the bench shouted at me. When I responded to him, the referee sent me off the technical area. I respect my colleagues and want to see them minding their own busyness.

Neftchi look stronger after the winter break and the contest is getting stronger in the league. The sides should play a fair-minded football. If you get champion after a mistake by a referee, the gold medals will make sense as an award by referees. No one would like this.”
