Gabala’s head coach Roman Grigorchuk talks to post match press conference right after the 1:1 draw with Sumgayit at home within the 15th tour of the Azerbaijan Premier League. The Ukrainian skipper says:
“The match run, almost, on one goal net. It is not the case at all we analyzed the opponents not well. And we can’t say that our starting line-up was set up weak. Our team worked really much during the full time. Except some a few attacks by Sumgayit, we kept the sustained period of pressure up to the final whistle. I too many times said that, we cannot make goals out of occasions. It was evident in this match, too. It is difficult to explain why even our four forward players were unable to score one more. We showed good tactics, efforts and emotions to keep the lead. But we failed on some many occasions. And there were some pulsating moments that we could go one ahead in the second period and those efforts made me nervous. I think our players on lease have not to play against us and this is my private oppinion that will change never.
We need just one step to make the deadlock on our forward line. We lack a striking player. Every forward should have scoring skills. Today, our every three forward should have scored three goals.
Sure we still need to work out more, but a player also should have his own talents. This is why there are not many forward player, and they are really expensive. We hope the next striker will help us converting our scoring chances into goal. Such a player can score thirty goals for Gabala in a season. Our lead was well evident tonight and we could have won a high scoring victory. But our only goal was scored by a midfielder after a standard situation”.
