Gabala challengers won two medals in the World Taekwondo Cup in Muju, South Korea. Azerbaijan national team members Milad Beigi Harcegani (80 kg) and Mahammad Mammadov highlighted the red-black club in the world championship. Harchegani won on Jibo Bagna Kadr from Nigeria with 30:9 before beating also Japanese Hidenori Ebata by 18:7. The 26-year-old fighter defeated Raul Garsia Martinez (Spain) by 19:13 in the round of 16 before taking also the round of 8 beating Moises Hernandes (Dominican Republic) with 6:4. The Olympic champion won over Aaron Kuk (Moldova) with 41:5 in the semifinal that earned him a tally to the all-important match where he won over Anton Kotkov by 21:3.
Following Mammadov, 63-kg, took the third place beating Sardar Tahirov (Uzbekistan) with 10:3, Maktar Al Mahammad Diaon (Senegal) with 26:6 and Nuno Kosta (Portugal) with 35:17. Reaching up to the round of 8, he defeated also Bolat Izutdinov (Russia) with 11:7 before defeating to Mirhashim Husseyn (Iran) with 5:6 and ended the cup with a bronze medal.
