Gabala taekwondo challenger Milad Beigi Harchegani has gained a bronze medal of the 31st Summer Olympic Games in Rio-de-Janeiro, Brazil. Challenging for the Azerbaijan national team, the 80 kg hero of the red-black club battled all the way through from the round of 16 lineup to the final beating first Ismael Coulibaly from Mali (13:5) before winning also over Mehdi Khodabakhshi from Iran (17:5).
And in the semifinal, the Gabala hero he lost to Lutalu Mahammad from Great Britain by 7:12. In his next fight for the bronze medal, Harchegani beat Piotr Pazinski from Poland by 12:0.
Now he is one of the 3 winners of Gabala, which joined the Olympic Games with 4 challengers, including boxer Kamran Shahsuvarly (75 kg) earning bronze and Lorenzo Sotomayor (64 kg) staying just ahead of the final hitting at least a silver medal.
