Gabala”s Asif Mammadov, breaking the deadlock in the match against Dinamo Tbilisi within the UEFA European League in the 88th minute, talks to gabalafc.az:
“After the 1st match loss to Dinamo, we trained really well to the return game. All expected victory from Gabala and we made it. Gabala”s lead was well evident during the full show time and the result was of expectance. We could have played better even in Tbilisi, but there are some many new footballers in the staff, so we need more time to set up a good teamwork. But we analyzed that game to remove shortages.
When I came on the pitch, I believed to be able to score. I told my teammate Samir Zargarov before the match one of us would score to seal in the winner. My goal was of a good teamwork to finish Arif Dashdamirov”s good pass to me. I am really happy that we could win”.
Mammadov is back with Gabala again after 8 years and his goal was 4th in his all 10 appearances for the red-black squad. He also shares his thoughts about FC Cukaricki, next side to face for the 2nd Qualifying Round.
“Although I don”t know much about the opponents, it is well known that Serbian football is much strong both with provisional teams and clubs. And if they could strike the 2nd round, it means they are really strong opponents. Now if we are to stand any chance of progressing to the group stage, we should end the Qualifying Round clearly”.
