I come on to every game just to score, Subotic says

Daniel Subotic talks to gabalafc.az sharing his reaction about his winner goal against Neftchi (1:0) in the Azerbaijan Premier League’s 16th tour at home. New transfer is back to his earlier team after 2.5 year break and will go on playing for Gabala until the season ends. The 28-year-old forward demonstrated his value after replacing Bagali Dabo in the 57th minute. The Swiss players says:

“It was a tough game. But we won and hit the three points. It is really gratifying that my first goal in my debut match earned the team victory. I come on every game just to score and so this goal was not unexpected. I’m back to Gabala to score and be a part of the team on the way to the trophy.
It is nice to see that Gabala are having the same high confidence in my earlier time with the team although the staff changed much. But now there are more players with skills of a leader. The likes of Rashad Sadigov and Javid Huseynov make the team stronger”.

Subotic remembers his last match before the new deal that was Neftchi onMay 22nd, 2014 when Gabala lost 1:1, (pen. 2:3) in the Azerbaijan Cup final. Now he says after 988 days:

“Actually, I would not like to remember that game because of the result. We lost our great chance. The penalty shootout changed the match’s fate.

I also remember my last goal for Gabala against Baku in May, 2014 in a match we won 3:1. In the second period, I scored to earn the team victory. With that win, we gained our first ever tally to the Europa League.

My debut for that time also left a good memory in my mind. When I came on my maiden match for Gabala against AZAL on September 15th, 2013, it was my promising effort after a long preparation at the start of the transfer. Then I scored a winner goal, too. Now we are going to the next tie against AZAL in our good form”.

Daniel is staying in the list of top ten scorers of Gabala with his fourteen goals in thirty appearances. He is too close to Bagaliy Dabo and Filip Ozobic who scored seven in the Azerbaijan Premier League. But his target is not the matter as he is focused only on victories. He adds:

“I’m not thinking about to be a top scorer. The most important is to be a part of the upcoming victories. It would be a hasty talk to speak about being a top scorer as I have just scored only one yet. But everything is possible.

Dabo and Ozobic are going as the leaders with seven goals in the league and this is tied to tough competing in the contest. It is not easy to show your value in such difficult matches. They are high level players and there is not a serious matter who is a top scorer as the all-important is to make the team win.”
