Gabala”s Ruslan Gurbanov, recently transferred to the A team, who scored two goals against Neftchi in his debut match last Saturday within the 4th tour of the Azerbaijan Premier League, talks to gabalafc.az. The forward says:
“We responded well to the task from head coach Roman Grigorchuk to win the game. To tell the truth, I didn”t expect such a high-scoring result. This shows that Gabala are on a right way.
I was unable to join up with the team at the training camp in Ukraine as I was playing for the national team. But it was really a good chance to be in the starting lineup. I appreciate the coach”s faith in me and I will push hard to repaid him.
I think I can play better and I will try and work out harder on the way into the further matches.
I would not say it was unexpectedly that I scored two goals in my debut match. Because I come on the pitch just to score. I am always hungry to scoring in every game as a forward. I thank to my teammates for being a big part of my goals.
Now we are focused on the UEFA EL match against Anderlecht from Belgium. The opponents are a world-famous team and it is expected to be a difficult mission. Brussel just for victory and making our fans happy. Grigorchuk will give tasks and we have to respond well to”.
