Danjiel Subotic hits new record of Gabala scoring in the opener at the Wednesday”s away against AZAL. Serbia forward reaches to be the red-black player scoring most in a championship after his 10th goal during the season. He breaks the 9-goal record of Deon Burton in the 2010/2011 season that was repeated by Yannick Kamanan and Dodo during the next season.
Right after the Wednesday win over AZAL, Danijel talks to gabalafc.az:
"I started with the league by game against AZAL. They are arch rivals as their defence line is always in alert. Both games üere really difficult for me. Fortunately, I was able to score just like in the first tie and the team showed resilience again by the same result".
“Extending goals”
"As a forward, I come on the pitch with my task to score a goal. I believed to be able to keep scoring after adapting to the championship. Sure it is not only me on the task and result, so all the teammates toiled for the result and I appreciate their efforts. Now I got 10 goals, I will try and extend my goals.
Subotic adds also about the earlier 2 losses and the next fixture against Ravan:
“We allowed some mistakes in the matches against Garabagh and Khazar-Lankaran. We failed to drive our chance to score 3rd against the southern team. Now we are going to face Ravan and we well understand that every game is difficult in the league championship. And it is not right to asses some team on their place at the league table. It is not a matter if there is Garabagh or Ravan ahead of us. I am convinced we will be pushing hard to gain our next 3 points”.
