International Shooting Grand Prix

International Shooting Grand Prix dedicated to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev will be held from 14 to 21 August in the city of Gabala for the first in the shooting sport history of Azerbaijan being organized by SC Gabala, National Olympic Committee, Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as Azerbaijan Shooting Federation.
The tournament will get underway on Thursday. It is one of the best tournaments after the European and World cups listed for 2014 by the International Shooting Sport Federation. The contest will be joined by shooters also from
Australia, Grat Britain, Belarus, Finland, Georgia, India, Iran, Italy, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Gatar, Russia and Uzbekistan.
For Azerbaijan will fight Olympic champion Zemfira Meftahaddinova, SC Gabala”s vice president and Azerbaijan champion Elvin Ismayilov, member of the Executive Committee of the Azerbaijan Shooting Federation, Gabala Shooting Club”s technical manager, Azerbaijan champion Emin Jafarov, World Cup finalist and Azerbaijan recorder, Gabala Shooting Club”s member Nurlana Jafarova, Khanhuseyn Baghirov, Elchin Babayev and Pasha Ahadpur.
Generally up to 150 shooters will be brought for round and trench stand shooting.
SC Gabala”s vice president Elvin Ismayilov talks about the tournament:
“It is really a great pleasure to organize the contest named after great leader Heydar Aliyev. We prepared much well to the project during the year and we are convinced our all efforts will drive benefits and we will be able to represent Azerbaijan successfully.
The refunding of the tournament is 81,000 USD. The contest will be aired by the Idman Azerbaijan TV.
