Gabala’s new transfer Ilgar Gurbanov shares his impression about the Athens preparation against Panathinaikos for the first tie of the UEFA Europa League’s 3rd Qualifying Round. He says:
“We are happy making a good start with the 2nd Qualifying Round. Although it was a difficult match at home against Jagiellonia because of we were not in our best, the team prepared better to the return game. This is normal to see some difficulties right after the training camp as you need more time to drive the development into practice and fit yourself to the squad. But we showed a better performance in the reverse match being cool on the pitch. The opponents also had analyzed us before the game where we didn’t allow them to set up counter attacks. Their caution was well evident as they backed on the defense waiting for our attacks. But Gabala were patient to keep the control on the ball. It was a good teamwork in Poland.
Following the next match against Panathinaikos, we are preparing to this event in Athens where the pair will face. We are targeting to return back home with a maximum good result. There is no need to talk about the opponent side as Panathinaikos are a side proved themselves out. The Athens club have always been drawing attention with their aggressive display. It’s going to be a tough mission at the opponent field”.
