Gabala"s 7th tour league match against Ravan (3:0) appeared to be remarkable with the debut of our young player Mushfig Teymurov coming on the pitch in the starting lineup. The 20-year-old defender made his first performance under the lead of Yuri Semin and held on in the full 90 minutes.
“Built by the Gabala Football Academy, Teymurov caught an eye from first team coaches after his good performances in the all last 5 tour matches of the reserve team playing in full 90 minutes. He even got into the 18-men staff for the last AZAL experience when he was only substitute.
Last Friday match was his 5th with the first team altogether. The back line player got a chance to 3 league and one cup games during the last season. His premier league debut arrived to 27 October 2012, when he played for 90 minutes against Turan at home in 0:1 loss. Then in 3 games, he came on as a substitute. Mushfig made his cup debut on 28 November 2012 against Garadagh-Lokbatan (2:0) being introduced in the 71st minute. Then he was able to come on in the 72nd minute of the home draw against Baku on 13th April this year 8 days before coming on the pitch on 87 minutes against Neftchi in away 1:2.
Teymurov talks to gabalafc.az after the Friday victory over Ravan:
"I always was trying to get into the first team. I got the chance in the match against Ravan. It was a bit anxious at the start, but later I got relieved from my anxious feelings. Gradually, I fit to the tempo of the game and found myself quite free. It would not be reasonable for me to charge my performance. It could be made by the coaching staff. I tried with my best and feel really ready to put out my all ability in the future matches when I get one more chance".
