Today, Gabala have broken their 8-game unbeaten streak defeating to Kapaz 3-2 at the delayed match of the 19 th week of Unibank Premier League. With Kapaz being just in desperate need of three points to stay as elite, Gabala, were fighting, in a different six, for getting rewarded.
The pace of the match began exploring attempts by the both sides and boring minutes because of the rough turf of the pitch, where the teams were not able to launch lively attacks for earlier minutes.
The deadlock was broken in the 13 th minute by Yannick Kamanan's free kick just threatening the home side. Soon after, he was under spotlight again with his header cleared by home keeper Tural Abbaszadeh.
Gabala were dominating a possession during the all half as it seemed just a matter of time before Lubo Baranin opened the scoring on 37 minutes converting the corner. Just a minute later, Fatih Kavlak's squad were reduced in amount after foul by Deon Burton. But it was Gabala staying firm against the further quick pressings by Kapaz, who were not be able any way to prevent our men from leaving the half on top.
The home side capitalized on the defensive display of reduced Gabala in the second period. The case led to Kapaz's 71-minute equalizer by Sabir Allahguliyev six minutes before Yuri Fomenko scored his team's second- 2:1.
Regaining a momentum after that, Gabala kept the other end under pressure with Kamanan making serious inroads into the home defense. The French forward earned his team's equalizer in 85 th minute picking up Tarzin Jahangirov's superb cross to kick in.
But two minutes later, the last goal came up by Kapaz's Junivan Suares seizing on spaces that Gabala defenders conceded- 3:2.
Now it is the first loss of Gabala in 2012.
