Gabala judoca Karamat Huseynov, challenging also for the Azerbaijan national U23 team, came on the first match of the European U23 Judo Cup in Podgoritsa, Montenegro. The 60-kg challenger, took the bronze medal taking three of all the four matches. He beat Irakli Kupatadze (Georgia) and Artyom Lesyuk (Ukraine) progressing into the semifinal. Then he lost to Gamzat Zairbekov (Russia) before defeating Tibo Volleman to earn the bronze medal.
