As the Unibank Premier League is going to give a start to the next 2012/13 season on Saturday, Gabala will leave to Zagatala tomorrow to face Simurg. But today our team are keeping their preparations ongoing at home. Having been ruled by the medical staff, Amil Yunanov will not be able to help his teammates.
Talking to gabalafc.az, coach Fatih Kavlak reveals some details about the first-leg fixture and the season:
“Now we are starting to the new 2012/13 season. I am convinced this football year will be of much interest by high-tension matches. During the interseasonal break, the all clubs participating in the Premier League did their all efforts to set up their best staffs.
This season, most league teams will play initially for first group of 6 before struggling for future matches in Europe. It sounds the all 12 sides are ahead of the long and hard fighting travel.
We also got some highly targets, and to reach up to them, the club managed some proper transfers forming a perfect staff. And we took maximum benefits from the preparations period.
Simurg are of the most difficult opponents of the season, as they proved this showing physically firmness and beating their opponents in all testing matches. And there is no talking of easy matches any more in the last two seasons of the Azerbaijani championship. This also will be a hard match against Simurg as they surely intend to win at home. But we are, too, aiming to earn a victory even in an away match. I believe my team will give a successful kick-off to the season".
