The Azerbaijan national football team have come on their second match in the Nations League in the third group of the League D within the second tour. They faced Malta in away, the city of Ta’Qali. Gabala’s three players were of a part of the squad as Tamkin Khalilzadeh and Rauf Aliyev came on in the starting line-up and Urfan Abbasov was introduced in the 34th minute. Aliyev was replaced in the 67th minute. The game ended in 1:1.

Khalilzadeh gave a great save to his teammates leveling in the 26th minute after conceding an early goal in the 10th minute. He hit the title of the first scorer for the national team in the Nations League. The Gabala hero reached also to his debut goal for the national squad in his seventh appearance. He also come out as the 62nd scoring player for the provisional ever.
