Gabala have won 1:0 over Khazar Lankaran in the 31st tour of the Azerbaijan Premier League in away today. Head coach Roman Grigorchuk was replaced by his assistant Mikhaylo Savka at the technical zone as the Ukrainian skipper was on his punishment.

Gabala started faster that led to the early goal with Oleksiy Gai after a perfect pass by Rashad Sadigov. This was registered as the 8th goal by the Ukrainian during the season becoming the best scorer and hitting again his record. The 34-year-old midfielder reached to his 3rd tally scoring 8 in 3 seasons.

The red-black side kept up the lead after the goal but both teams were unable to score more during the half. And the home side also was off the target with their some efforts.

After the restart, Khazar Lankaran looked coming from behind with their quick attacks. But the red-black squad held on clear.

Gabala”s Samir Zargarov went too close to doubling his team”s lead before his long-range shot could not find the net.

Dmytro Bezotosny gave some great saves to his teammates and could keep the goal clear up to the final whistle reaching to his 15th cleansheet game in the season.

After the 2nd victory on the trot, Gabala moved up to the 3rd place with 49 points.
