Gabala judoka Ushangi Kokauri, 100 kg, won a bronze medal of the Dusseldorf Grand Slam  in Paris, France. He came on five challenges beating first Yingju Yin (China) then Georgi Zakariadze (Georgia) progressing into the round of 8. He lost to Hisayoshi Harasawa before a consolation match where the Gabala challenger won on Sven Heynle (Germany). Then he defeated Or Sasson (Israel) to hit the bronze medal after the fourth victory.
