Gabala”s Fariz Mammadov, boxing for Azerbaijan, has hit his world championship belt of WBF and WBCA beating Badru Lusambya from Uganda at the Boxing Center, Baku tonight. The sides came on the canvas under in their 66,7 kg.
It was Mammadov”s 22nd professional appearance after 18 victories. The match of 12 rounds finished early as the Gabala hero forced his opponent to knockdown in the 7th round. Mammadov”s lead was quite evident before the 2nd knockdown in the 8th. Later on, Fariz”s punch forced him to slip.
Right after the match, Mammadov says to media reporters:
“It was my dreams of 15 years to earn the world champion belt. Today I have done it. I appreciate all, as well as SC Gabala, who supported me up to this night”.
