Mini Kickers program starts its 3rd year

Gabala Football in the Community (FITC) reaches to its 3rd year teaching professional football for children around the region. The department aims to create football opportunities for children from the age of 5-10 in the Mini Kickers Program, where these children will enjoy, learn and develop their football skills. The program also gives the opportunity to pick talented youngsters with potential, who can take the next step onto the Development Pyramid.

The head of the GFITC Joe Doyle says:
“The Mini Kickers is going on just like in the plan. The amount of the participating pupils is rising year by year. The purpose of the program is just to provide 3 or 4 groups of children to play quite freely in the pitch. By this way, those kids become a part in the whole football development across Gabala region.

Training proceedings of the Mini Kickers program are watched also by coaches of the Gabala Football Academy. And of course, it gives these boys a chance to start their journey on the road to becoming an academy player”.

Joe Doyle talked also about the 3rd Coca-Cola School Tournament, which is going to start this November:

"We are preparing with great enthusiasm to the 3rd Coca-Cola School Tournament. The project is powered jointly by the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan and FC Gabala. The tournament aims to start in mid November. If there are any schools, PE teachers who wish to get involved, they should be quick to get in touch with the GFITC department.

Last year the team from the region of Gabala became one of the best 6 teams in Azerbaijan. This was seen as great achievement by non academy group. But this year we aim to do even better".
