Gabala lost to Neftchi by 2:1 in away within the 2nd tour match of the Azerbaijan Premier League.

The home side started faster and took the lead with some threats in early minutes. But Sanan Gurbanov’s red-black team held on our keeper Dmytro Bezotosniy gave some great saves to his teammates. And in another occasion, Bahlul Mustafazadeh could deflect a pulsating shot from Neftchi to the Gabala goal net. Gabala’s first threat came out by Tamkin Khalilzadeh with a pulsating free-kick from the right that gave a trouble to the Neftchi keeper.

James Adeniyi seemed close to the Neftchi box but failed to deal with the ball. The hosts opened the scoring before the half-time with Bagaliy Dabo.

After the restart, Steeven Monroze was introduced. Gabala seemed as a promising side and forced the home side to kick the ball out for a corner to deny Abbasov and Adeniyi. And counter attack from Neftchi finished in the second goal with Dario Frederiko.

Rauf Aliyev came on the pitch and Gabala stepped up their attacks. Monroze looked close to scoring with his warm-up efforts. But Neftchis keeper and defenders denied him clear. But Monroze’s next drive set up Rauf made a good deal with Anton Krivotsyuk and finished clinically.
