Gabala lost to Neftchi with 4:1 in the last match of the Azerbaijan Premier League’s 12th tour. The pace of the game started by mutual attacks before Neftchi gaining the lead gradually. Gabala’s Asif Mammadov and Clesio Bauque set up early threats against the opponents. Going more into the first period, the team from capital Baku scored two times in eight minutes.

 

The goals prompted Gabala to push harder led to free kick by Gismat Aliyev saw his effort passed wide. Before the break, Neftchi scored in their third.

 

After the restart, Gabala seemed faster but were unable to break the Neftchi defense. Later on, our keeper Anar Nazirov gave some saves to his teammates. Merab Gigauri and Davit Volkov went too close to scoring but were off-target. Then the latter came one-on-one with the Neftchi keeper before his shot was deflected by an opponent defender.

 

Neftchi scored one more in the stoppage time and Gabala fed back one just before the final whistle. Amin Seydiy’s touched Donald Gerye converted into own goal.
