Gabala defeated to Neftchi in the 17th tour away of the Topaz Premier League. As Garabagh lost their lead, both sides were very close to the top place on the league table. The teams came on the pitch just to push hard on the way up.

The match started by attacks from the home side, but it was Gabala setting up the first threat of the show. Ebecilio seemed too close to the opener cutting through the opponent keeper from the left before his shot was denied by opponent defender Cardoso.

Neftchi opened the scoring in the 12th minute after Gabala”s young player Mushfig Teymurov fouled on Flavinio in the box that led to penalty. Shooting the ball, Neftchi”s Araz Abdullayev put his team one ahead.

Gabala stepped up their inroad into the Neftchi defense after the goal and it worked out to feed back during the extra time of the first half. Dodo was fouled in the box of Neftchi and Leonardo shot home.

The things got progressing into more pulsating minutes in the second part with mutual attacks. Although some many occasions by both sides, only Neftchi could score their second to leave the event on top. Mahir Shukurov scored the all-important goal in the last 3rd minute during the extra time. The result left Neftchi moving up again to the lead at the top of the 17 tours.
