Premier League matches restarting June 21

Clubs Committee held the second webinar in suggestion by AFFA. The event was joined by Azerbaijan’s football governing body’s vice-president Elkhan Mammadov, PFL president Ramin Musayev, Premier League club’s heads and AFFA main coach Vyacheslav Khomenko.

Mammadov gave an opening speech about ongoing efforts against the COVID-19 pandemics in the country before addressing his appreciations to President Ilham Aliyev. The event outlined the followings:

1. Resetting league clubs’ trainings since June 1st before restarting to league and cup matches on June 21.

2. Testing both league footballers and coaches on COVID-19 every week.

3. Discussing league and cup matches schedules.

4. Next steps after positive test results

5. Some COVID-19 additions to contracts between footballers and clubs.

6. Other issues

The discussions led to the following conclusions:
 
- Bothe trainings and matches to restart on the dates above.

- Both footballers and coaches to involve to Coronavirus tests before traings and matches.

- League and cup games to be scheduled soon.

- If any footballer’s test comes out positive, AFFA will go to negotiations with appropriate institutions before some urgent efforts;

- COVID-19 additions to contracts to be discussed between PFL and clubs.
