Gabala lost the season’s Azerbaijan Cup final by 2:0. After unbeaten streak of the last 11 cup games, Roman Grigorchuk’s red-black side came on the pitch in their full strength.

The pace of the match started with mutual attacks and Qarabagh’s Afran Ismayilov went too close to opening the scoring.
Gabala’s momentum went a little down when Tellur Mutallimov got injured that forced Grigorchuk to make two changes.

After the restart, the team from Aghdam broke the deadlock. Mahir Madatov kicked the ball passed Dmytro Bezotosniy. Gabala’s Urfan Abbasov’s poor shot led to own goal.

The result left Gabala losing their second cup final experience.
