Gabala lost to Qarabagh by 4:1 in the 5th tour of the domestic league in away. Sanan Gurbanov’s red-black team suffered from a poor start as Elvin Jamalov got injured in the 7th minute and replaced.

Qarabagh’s Abdullah Zubir scored an opener the 30th minute. The goal prompted Gabala to push harder to leveling but pulsating efforts by Steeven Monroze was denied by the host keeper. Araz Abdullayev doubled Qarabagh’s lead just before the half-time.

It was Gabala being faster after the break led to remarkable shots from Monroze with a great shot deflected by the keeper under the overhead woodwork. Then Qarabagh seemed stepping up counter attacks and Dzon Delarge put his team one more ahead – 3:0. Later on, Zubir scored in his double.

The red-black team’s Rauf Aliyev went too close to scoring in six minutes left to the final whistle but the Qarabagh keeper canceled the scoring. And Gabala’s only goal on the show was scored by Rasim Ramaldanov with a header after a corner by Tamkin Khalilzadeh in the last minute. The latter picked up a red card in the stoppage time.
