Gabala’s karate challenger Rafael Aghayev highlighted Azerbaijan and his club in the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku. The 5-time world champion, 75 kg, made his way all through beating Arman Eltemur (Turkey) with 3:0, Sultan Al-Zahraniya (Saudi Arabia) with 7:2, Sharmendran Ragkhonatana (Malesia) with 5:0 before defeating also Abbas Gulam (Pakistan) in the final with 4:0. This was Aghayev’s second trophy in the Islamic Solidarity Games after hitting the same title in 2013 in Indonesia. He took also a bronze medal of the tournament in 2005.
