After the resignation of Gabala coach Fatih Kavlak, Ramiz Mammadov is back to his former post at the club.

The new 44-yeal-old coach had joined FC Gabala again on 10 July 2012 as a Sports Director of Gabala. Before this, he was at the helm as a coach of the main team for 4 seasons starting from the 2006/07 season. Since then, Mammadov reached up to be the coach with most match experiences of Gabala - 100 league games and 18 Azerbaijan Cup events.

It was the end of the 2009/10 season when Mammadov had left his post as a coach.
