FC Gabala is having its first two new footballers that are domestic talents. After young defender Shahriyar Khalilov, who was well known to Fatih Kavlak even since his Garabagh career and playing for Khazar-Lenkoran in the last season, the coach intended to see also Rashad Abdullayev at his disposal. The 31-year-old midfielder chooses Gabala as a free footballer finishing his 2-year contract where he put his perfect attendance in achievements of Neftchi. Now Abdullayev shares his first feelings about his transferring and targets among other details:

“They always said take your stuff and come to Gabala”. 

- Let us start by your transferring to Gabala. 

- At closing stages of the last championship, I knew that I caught eye of Gabala. After matches finished, we met with the administrative board of Gabala. Having some talks, came to resolution to sign one year contract. But the document gives a chance to extend the agreement.

- What was the all-important measure that made you to choose Gabala? 

- It was not a so much hesitating step for me. Actually, I wished to be in Gabala looking for comfortable situation of career. I do not like to change clubs often in financial need. It was well known to me about all good opportunities in Gabala. Interest of the club on me was something very important for me, and I deeply looked through all these again to make better step. 

- But you could have chosen any other club attending in Euro Cup matches… 

- Sure it is good to play in Euro Cup tournaments. But I picked a club that may get a tally to Euro Cups, although they failed to do it in this season. God willing, my team earn the long wishing success in the next season that I am joining you. I want to testify that I am really fitting to Gabala as a player.

- Here in Gabala, there are some persons you played together before: chief of the team Ramiz Karimov, player Elmar Bakhshiyev…

- You are right. For a long time, I was with them and also Sanan Gurbanov and Azer Baghirov who are working for Gabala youth soccer. They always said take your stuff and come to Gabala.

-What about your target in the debut season with Gabala?

- I want to be a useful part of Gabala. I will do my bests for this.

- You much played against Gabala, and even scored a goal to the net of your new team. What are your impressions as a opponent on this team?

- It was always difficult to play against Gabala. As we all kno, you won three of four matches against Neftch. It is well evident thet Gabala has got perfect coaching system and play tactics.

- You played with both domestic and foreigner coaches. What is your exectation from collaboration with Fatih Kavlak?

- It is really gratifying when you know that head coach wishes to see you in his team. Fatih Kavlak called me to congratulated and gave his blessings to me. We should fix our bests efforts on targets of the club for the next season. 

- You always performed in number 27. Gabala also gave you just this uniform. Did you wish this or was it by chance?

- They knew this. And they did this as we talked. 

- What is the secrecy of it chasing this number?

- Y played in my childhood with number 7. Joining Khazar-Lenkoran in 2004, there was already taken this uniform and since then I chose 27.

- Have your say to funs of Gabala? What can they expect from you?

- When I met with funs, I promised them to do my all efforts for successes of Gabala. Let them keep going their support to us. We will do our bests to make them happy and enjoying.
