Gabala have played away draw against Baku in the 8th tour of the Premier League. It was a high-level tension match where the pair promised to win.

The sides launched back-to-back attacks right after the kick-off. Gabala got in behind the home side more regularly, and it seemed as a matter of time before we opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Victor Mendy came on the scoresheet with a header past the Baku keeper from a left-flank pass of Dodo.

Just a minute later, Gabala could have been fed back by Junior Wilson of Baku, but the post denied him.

The next threat came up by Gabala in the 17th minute as Dejan Kelhar was deflected by the home keeper. The fate of the event was settled on 43 minutes when Rovshan Amiraslanov was sent off after 2 fouls in 3 minutes.

The course of the second half was different as Gabala played in a defensive display against quick attacks of the home side. But our reduced staff, making encounter attacks at times, failed to protect their one-goal lead just before an hour mark. Aleksandr Solic hit to equalize – 1:1.

It was the last goal of the 23rd tie of the teams despite some more occasions by both sides.
