Gabala faced Sungayit at the Reserves League in the Stadium named after Mehdi Huseynzadeh. The first period went goalless although many occasions. But the home side began faster after the restart and they opened the scoring with Ramil Hashimzadeh in the 71st minute. The goal prompted the men of Luis Aragon to get a momentum, and just 11 minutes later on, Amil Yunanov scored to level.

Keeping Sumgayit under sustained period of pressure, Gabala went one better with Kamal Mirzayev shooting in the winner for the 1st minute of the extra time. With a one-game difference, Gabala rose up to the 4th place in the list through the victory.
