Gabala, coached by Roman Grigorchuk, have ended with the UEFA EL this season after their third experience in a row. Their UEFA EL season stopped in the group stage just like the last term after 162 days. They battled all the way through from the first leg within the First Qualifying Round on June 30 to the last match of the Group C on December 8.
The following facts give review into our continental experience this season:
- Gabala repeated their last season record of fourteen EL matches among Azerbaijan clubs.
- Our team won five matches of all fourteen hitting again the record of the last term. They followed also one draw and eight losses. With all these, Gabala earned 1,375 points of UEFA.
- Gabala made it all through twenty goals determine the absolute record of Azerbaijan clubs. Our team’s average productivity is 1,43 points.
- Gabala conceded twenty one goals.
- Dmytro Bezotosniy held on clear in two games and scored in ten appearances.
- Gabala took five victories of all eight of the Qualifying Round, following also one draw and two defeats. The Grigorchuk team scored fifteen and conceded seven in the round.
- Gabala are the only club in Azerbaijan going through four stages of EL in a season. They hit the testimony again.
- Going through four stages in successive two seasons is a single fact of UEFA Europa League.
- After beating Lille (France) 1:0 in Baku, Gabala have been registered as the first and still only Azerbaijani side beating any team from top five countries. Gabala have been also the only Azerbaijani team knocking the French team out after on aggregate goals rule with 1:1 and 1:0.
- Although losing all six matches of the group stage, Gabala scored five goals and conceded fourteen.
- There was only one high-scoring win that was over Samtredia (Georgia) with 5:1.
- Theo Wooks struck Gabala’s only hat-trick in the match against Samtredia.
- There is also a single double that were scored by Bagali Dabo.
- Gabala won four of all seven home events following three losses after scoring fifteen goals and conceding ten.
- Gabala were able to score in their all seven home appearances that is more than any other Azerbaijani sides.
- Gabala hosted six home matches also at the Bakcell Arena and one game at the Dlgha Arena with 43,273 attendances of altogether home events. The crowd’s average number is 6,182.
- Gabala won one of all seven aways following one draw and five losses through scoring five goals and conceding eleven.

- Twenty one footballers came on the pitch for Gabala during this season’s UEFA EL. Dmytto Bezotosniy, Ricardinho, Filip Ozobic and Vitaliy Vernydub appeared in all fourteen matches.
- Dmytro Bezotosniy and Ricardinho held on the pitch for full time in fourteen matches with 1,260 minutes that is more than any other footballers in Azerbaijan.
- Gabala’s three penalty shots hit the target as Ricardinho scored at one of his two chances and Ruslan Gurbanov converted his maiden chance to goal.
- Dmytro Bezotosniy conceded one of two penalties against Gabala.
- Nine players scored for Gabala: Theo Weeks (with 5 goals), Sergei Zenjov (4 goals), Bagali Dabo 3 , Ruslan Gurbanov and Filip Ozobic (both 2 goals), Ricardinho, Vitaliy Vernydub, Vojislav Stankovic and Nika Kvekveskiri (each with one goal).
- Gabala’s top scorer Theo Weeks scored five goals beating record of Azerbaijan footballers in any season.

- There are also two red cards against Gabala as Theo Weeks picked up right at one foul and Rashad Eyyubov saw it after two yellow.
