The match started by mutual attacks. The half ran in a down tempo. Roman Huseynov went too close to scoring in the 11th minute when his effort close to the arear passed wide of the goal. Six minutes later, Merab Gigauri cross found Rovlan Muradov shot in from a close range.

After the goal, Sabail pushed hard to leveling but Elmar Bakhshiyev’s team held on clear. David Volkov could double Gabala’s lead, but he was denied by the opponent keeper.

After the restart, Ulvi Isgandarov reached to the ball lost by the Sabail keeper but the Gabala footballer’s shot was off the target just like a pulsating free-kick by Roman Huseynov.
