Gabala fielded against Baku in the fourteenth week of Unibank Premier League in a match that was expected to be under high tension because of both teams were much keen on medals.
Gabala was on display in the same squad that defeated Neftchi, but now without injured Deon Burton and with Nuran Gurbanov in his position.
The match-up has started with watchful attacks of both sides. Although we were much stronger in foothold for early minutes, the representatives of capital Baku could be able to be capitalized changing further minutes in their own favour. Uinston Parks was under spotlight with his passion and the Baku forward hit on 17 minutes from the right flank setting up Deividas Cesnauskis’s follow-up kick home- 1:0.
And, Serge Djiehoua in the offensive line was toiling to respond, but his efforts came to be unsuccessful as the opponents carefully played into the second scoring on 45 minutes.    
Gabala were more active again in the second half. Yashar Abuzarov and Luba Baraninin entered the field slowing dawn the attacks of Baku and adding dynamism to Fatih Kavlak’s defensive line.

In some episodes, we were almost able to change the odds, but inaccuracy of our players was problem.

And on 88th minute, Gabala finished when Luiz Hilario entered the box undergoing rude. Taking advantage of the penalty, Djiehoua fired the ball straight into the net getting his teammates encouraged – 2-1.

But the following attacks unleashed by Gabala gave no successes and in the aftermath, we could not break the winless streak with Baku again.
