Gabala boxer Kamran Shahsuvarly, who challenges also for the national team, won a silverware of the European Championship in Kharkov, Ukraine. The 25-year-old challenger, 75 kg, added this to his possession including Rio-2016 bronze and Islamic Solidarity Games silver medals. Shahsuvarly joined the continental tournament from the round of 16 where he won on Emmet Brennan from Ireland (5:0). Then in the final round of 8, he beat Silvio Shyerley from Germany (4:1) developing into the semifinal where he won also on Zoltan Harcsa from Hungary (4:1). And in the all-important match today, Kamran lost to Ukrainian Aleksandr Khijnyak with 0:5.
As he won a tally to the round of 8, Shahsuvarly is entitled to challenge in the World Cup just like another Gabala boxer Lorenzo Sotomayor (64 kg) stopped just before the semifinal. The World Cup will be held during August 25 to September 3 in Hamburg, Germany.
