Shooting Grand-Prix in Gabala ending - Photos

Haydar Aliyev International Shooting Grand Prix was held from 14 to 21 August in Gabala for the first in the shooting sport history of Azerbaijan being organized by SC Gabala, National Olympic Committee, Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as Azerbaijan Shooting Federation. It is one of the best tournaments after the European and World cups listed for 2014 by the International Shooting Sport Federation. The contest was joined by shooters also from Australia, Grat Britain, Belarus, Finland, Georgia, India, Iran, Italy, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Gatar, Russia and Uzbekistan. For Azerbaijan will fight Olympic champion Zemfira Meftahaddinova, SC Gabala”s vice president and Azerbaijan champion Elvin Ismayilov, member of the Executive Committee of the Azerbaijan Shooting Federation, Gabala Shooting Club”s technical manager, Azerbaijan champion Emin Jafarov, World Cup finalist and Azerbaijan recorder, Gabala Shooting Club”s member Nurlana Jafarova, Khanhuseyn Baghirov, Elchin Babayev and Pasha Ahadpur.

Awarding fund included 81,000 USD and totally up to 150 shooters were brought for round and trench stand shooting. 

Firstly women came on the scene with round stand shooting and the first gold medal was gained by Russian Svetlana Demina. Her countrywoman Olga Panarina reached to silver and British Yelena Allenn earned bronze. Azerbaijan"s Zemfira Meftahatdinova stayed at the 9th place as Nurlana Jafarova finished at the 8th tier.

With trench stand shooting, the gold modal was taken by Maria Dmitriyenko from Kazakhstan as Al-Khalaf Kholoid from Gatar gained silver and Finnish Makella Numella Satu earned bronze. 

And Gabala"s Alina Rafikhanova reached to the 7th place.

With men"s round stand shooting, British Rory Warlow hung a gold medal on his neck as the second place was taken by Rashid Hamad and the bronze medal was gained by Aleksadr Yechshenko. And with trench stand shooting, Viktor Kasyanov from Kazakhstan took the gold medal. Olympics champion Aleksey Alipov gained the silver and Jeyk Vallayk from Australia took the bronze.

With this kind of shooting, SC Gabala"s vice president, professional shooter Elvin Ismayilov beat the Azerbaijan record and went up to the final before finishing at the 5the place.
 
The closing ceremony was joined also by president of FC Gabala Tale Heydarov, vice president of the Azerbaijan Shooting Federation Hafiz Jafarov, European Shooting Confederation members Petros Kirites and Willhelm Gril.
