Gabala met Simurg in the 3rd match of 2015 for the 21st tour of the Topaz Premier League.

Although the sides launched mutual attacks right after the starting whistle, both keepers faced no troubles for early minutes. Then Ruslan Fomin came out with failed shot before the home side took more spaces led to the opening. Dragan Ceran scored after pass from Samir Zargarov.

Later on, Simurg doubled their lead as Dmitri Bezotosny looked lost fouling on Zargarov and Gabala went down to 10. Substitute Anar Nazirov could not deflect Ceran’s second goal with penalty.

After the restart, it was Gabala pressing harder with some changes from head coach Roman Grigorchuk. The red-black sguad looked much passionate with exchange between Dodo and Ekigho Ehiosun. But Gabala could set up only one threat when Aleksey Gai”s superb shot was deflected touching Ekigho.

The 2:0 result put an end to Gabala”s away winning streak of the last 3 matches as our last loss in Zagatala dates back to 648 days ago – 3 May 2013.
