SC Gabala regret for the unpleasant things happened in the Larnaka City Stadium of Cyprus where the club”s first team faced domestic Apollon (1:1) in the 1st game of the 3rd Qualifying Round within UEFA European League.

We just want to let the world football community know that SC Gabala had suggested both the opponent club administration and UEFA member to provide important security measures before the match. We also reminded some turmoil came out during contests of club and national teams in Cyprus in past years, as well as 2006 when Javid Huseynov suffered from physical attacks by Cypriot fans during the national U19 tournament between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

These are really disappointing cases having been repeated also this week away against Apollon. The home side fans tried to burn the Azerbaijan flag but they stopped after SC Gabala members objected on the case aproaching to the UEFA member and FC Apollon administration to interfere in the issue.

Although all these efforts to stop the unpleasant cases, they kept going on in the sits zone of the stadium with Apollon fans insulting Azerbaijan”s state attributes.

Always keeping up respects to opponents, referees and fans, SC Gabala are standing against such undesirable things in sport fields.

Consequantly, we call our fans to not give themselves away to any sabotages and just to support their team during the return match to be held in the Bakcell Arena, Baku, this Thursday.
