Successuful play from Academy footballers in St. Petersburg

Valentin Granatkin Memorial U19 championship in Saint Petersburg of Russia starts to the 2nd group stage where Azerbaijan provisional team beat Japan 1:0 and Russia-2 in 4:2, as well as lost to Saint Petersburg with 2:4. Azerbaijan are represented also by 2 Gabala Football Academy students – defenders Aykhan Asadov and Bahlul Mustafazadeh, midfielders Emin Zamanov, Yusif Nabiyev and Roman Huseynov. They are playing for the 1st-6th places and 4 of them came on the pitch in all starting line-ups of the team.

The contest organized in memory of FIFA”s former 1st vice president Valentin Granatkin.

Captain Mustafazadeh, as well as Zamanov and Nabiyev stayed on the pitch during full time of all matches. The midfielders were awarded with the title best player on show, respectively, in the 2nd and 3rd games. The latter forget his title in the 2nd tour having a yellow card.

Huseynov played from kickoff in all events being replaced in the 90the minute for the 1st leg match, then in the 87th minute for the next game before his much exchange on 83 minutes for the last game. He was replaced by Gabala”s Asadov in the match against Russia-2.

Now the national team are going to face South Korea Thursday.
