SC Gabala’s Boxing Department manager Fariz Mammadov shares his impressions about the Antalya training camp in Turkey. He says to gabalafc.az:

“In early October, co-chair of the Saint Petersburg Boxing Federation Oleksey Ivanov made a contact with me about our boxers. They were aware about boxers’ achievements in Summer Olympics, European Games and European Cups. They wanted to collaborate with us and offered to manage a training camp in Turkey. This was fixed to October 18 to November 6, and was joined by boxers from Saint Petersburg, Karaganda and Aktau (Kazakhstan), as well as the Turkish national team. I watched the training proceedings and got satisfied by the team’s physical and tactical form. And there is no injured boxer in our team and they all are ready to the upcoming contests.

The target is to be successful in the Qualifying Round of the London European Olympics 2020. I’m thankful to SC Gabala’s administrative board for managing this chance for us. Our five boxers are going to challenge for the Azerbaijan national team.

It’s worth to notice that, junior champions of the world and Europe Mahammad Abdullayev, Umid Rustamov and Gabala’s former challenger Lorenzo Sotomayor also joined the preparations with our boxers”.
