Gabala’s Asif Mammadov shares his post-match impression after the away tie against France’s Saint Etienne (1:0) in the UEFA Europa League’s Group C. The midfielder says:

“We had analyzed the opponents’ game and knew that it was possible to earn points from them. This was well evident during the course of the match. Playing much in the defensive display was tied to our away performance. We were prevented from 0:0 just by the own goal. The result was effected also by some lacks in our staff. But we can gain even three points from the revers match in our full staff in Baku. It was a normal display in general, and we lost only because of the away game and the name of Saint Etienne. During the match we well felt that we could have won over them. We gave up the ball so many times and I think we could have hold on clear against the opponents if we didn’t make the own goal”.
