Tellur Mutallimov, produced by Gabala Football Academy and scored the opening goal against Inter Baku within the 21st tour of the Azerbaijan Premier League, talks to gabalafc.az sharing his impression about the last Saturday’s 2:0 victory. The 22-year-old defender says:
“I’m happy that we won the match that was a tough one. And it is really gratifying for me to be a part of the victory. I will try to be a part of a good job always with both my performance and scoring goals. This was my second goal for the senior team. I was expecting error by the opponent keeper and then the ball reach right to my feet and I targeted the open goal. We made some mistakes in the half and after the break, we removed cleared them and hit the target. We well understood the importance of opening the scoring. So we did it by our ambition.
We come on every match just to win. Now every tie left ahead is of really much importance like a final. Now what we need is just to keep earning three points from all the upcoming ties to hit the trophy.”
Mutallimov is very glad to be called to the Azerbaijan national football team ahead of the friendly with Qatar fixed to this Thursday. He adds:
“I didn’t expect to be called to the provisional as I was focused only on Gabala’s matches. This was a pleasant surprise for me. I appreciate head coach Robert Prosinecki’s faith in me. No matter he’ll put me in the starting line-up or not, I’m happy to be a part of the team. I adapted to the defensive line after last matches, but can play even on the forward.”
