Gabala’s U19 coach Famil Khalilov talks for a post-match reaction right after the 1:0 loss to APOEL (Cyprus) in the return home match within the UEFA Youth League’s Champions Path. The team skipper says:

“Although we started well, we were unable to keep this up. We planned to play in an attacking display and had no plan to play in defense. We knew APOEL are dangerous opponents when they have a chance to get close to our arear. So we were focused to hold them on forward. We conceded a goal as our some footballers failed to respond to the plan. We had analyzed APOEL’s Giannis Satsias performance and we appointed one player to keep him under control over the full time. But he failed on this. And the opponent side set up their game on Satsias who scored against us.

But anyway Gabala showed their value as a promising and pushing side tonight. And we have to forget about the loss and get focused on the domestic league again. We have to be champions again to have the same chance and feelings in the UEFA Youth League again next year”.
